Pucker Up!

One thing that I have learned to embrace in the last year is a good lipstick color! Every time I wear one of my favorite new colors, everyone loves it and asks for more details. So here are my two faves and perfect ones for the Holiday season!

Mac Viva Glam 1 (Russian Red) with Brick liner

This my go to red - it is darker, but it looks very red on, see:

I have yet to see this look bad on anyone! Seriously - the best red out there! If you have been wanting to try a red lip, start here :).

Mac Viva Glam 3 with Burgundy liner

I know they don't look much different there, but they are!  This is my newest purchase.  On Halloween, I wore a dark brown/burgundy color with my costume and loved it! I went last week to find it in my favorite brand (Mac is the best in my opinion!) and found this.  It is very dark! I love it, I am wearing it here:

The key I have been taught about putting on dark lipsticks is to put on the lipstick on the main areas of your lips first. Don't try to get in every nook and cranny with the lipstick.  After you have put on the lipstick, color in and line with your liner. You can go back with the lipstick and make darker, but you want to use the liner to color in the hard places.  No fool way, I promise! I buy matte sticks as I would like that look for dressier occasions. If I am wearing it everyday like the pic above, I will put a similar colored gloss over.  Easy peasy!! Let me know if you try it!!
