Back to School - Boys

Sorry for the blogger issues. If you do not see my sidebar to the right - it is on the very bottom of the page - TRYING to get it fixed!

Continuing our Back to School series, today I will talk boys!

Owen is my almost 6 year old son. Bless his heart - he is sandwiched in between two loud, dramatic young girls and just goes with the flow.  Owen could care less what he is wearing as long as it:

a. Is not pink or purple
b. Is not itchy
c. Is not hot

Owen is by far the easiest to dress and shop for.  I am going to be honest and tell you that I don't have to put much thought into his clothes and don't know that I have many great tips.  His outfit most days is a pair of cargo shorts, a cool t-shirt and flip flops in the summer.  He wears lots of jeans and athletic pants in the winter and Fall with tennis shoes.  He is a no fuss, get me dressed fast and back to playing, kind of guy.

I do try to still match him to the girls, but I have to be creative.  He does NOT want to match them too close.  At the same time, he loves him a good seasonal shirt and will wear those.
Here is a good example of the 4th of July. Avengers, but red, white and blue :)

I don't focus on his bottoms as much as they usually get trashed in a month or lost in Owen's world of no return.  I buy him cargos from Target and Crazy 8.  We will talk jeans and such in my Fall posts.

When I am shopping for him, I focus on shirts.  I am always on the lookout for cool t-shirts.

Owen is just like his daddy and loves a good t-shirt.  I know I can put him in one and he will be comfortable and not be pulling around on it or too hot.  Also, they can be worn year round with either a long sleeve shirt under or a button down over.  Plus, I just love a cute boy in a funny t-shirt.  I always look for creative ones and something every boy will not have on. I am also a huge fan of stripes.  Love Owen in striped shirts.  He tells me he looks like Fred in them. I have no idea what that means, but he thinks it is funny :)...oh and ANYTHING sports related - he wears as soon as it is clean!

Luckily, our fave places always carry great boy t-shirts...all of these I found at Gap and Old Navy...

Pair any of these with a cute pair of cargo shorts and tennis shoes and he will look stylish and still be able to play at recess.  I used to dress him up all the time (still do for church and special events), but I realized how miserable he is dressed that way.  I know how much his daddy can complain about clothes, so I am sure he feels the same :).  You can find cute tshirts everywhere! I find them on zulily and all my favorite online sites.  I also have found them at WM, Target, Children's Place and Academy.  Always be open and grab them.

Well that was not much but, like I said, my boy is easy :).  Hope that helped!!  Where do you find cute boy clothes?

Tomorrow, we are back to y'all - yes, Moms have back to school clothes too!

I have to say boys are easy. I have 2 boys so that's all I know. Owen wardrobe sound like both of mine. My oldest is starting to really pay more attention to his clothes and shoes (12 yrs. Old) and I really like it. He tries to have his own style.

My son is 5 and I agree..simple tees are a must! I love the cargo shorts from The Childrens Place and when they are on sale I stock up! A good thing to always grab is solid polos bc they go with anything :)

This post reminds me so much of my eight-year-old! He does not care what he wears and would prefer to wear elastic-waist shorts every day! I used to buy a lot of his play clothes at Carters, but sadly, he has outgrown them now.
